Snowboard Longboard Part II

I was pushing to work one day on my longboard I had made out of a snowboard when I heard the dreaded *CRACK*. I was really sad that I had finally managed to break my creation, but the great thing about skateboards is that you can always cut it shorter and breathe new life into it. After planning the shape of my new board for many days, I began laying out the necessary cuts, then one weekend I went home and made use of our wood shop to finish the design.
Every skateboarder's worst nightmare. This is my freshly snapped tail; it was so bad that my hardware was bent!
The broken tail cut through and ripped off to start visualizing the shape of the new board given what material I have left to work with.
Using calipers to carefully size out and draw on the wheel cut outs so I have proper clearance. A very tricky step.
The final deck after cutting out the profile with a band saw and a bunch of sanding using a cylindrical sanding drum in my drill press. I angled the wheel well cutouts to gain maximum wheel clearance per unit of footspace.
The beautiful curvy front of the new deck.
The swallow-tail making this board stand out.
The final assembled board with extra-course grip tape on the tail. It's light, turny, and functional!
The bottom of the final board. I was so happy that I was able to preserve the original grape woodburned motif I had spent a lot of time on. It rides great!
